Trailer Time – ‘The Smurfs’ looks adorable in 3D

The Smurfs, a new 3D adventure from Columbia Pictures, has debuted the first official trailer. The movie directerd by Raja Gosnell (Never Been Kissed) promises to become your new favorite live-action/CGI-animated family film when relased this August.

The Smurfs starring Neil Patrick Harris, Jayma Mays (Glee), Hank Azaria and Sofía Vergara, also features voices of Katy Perry (Smurfette), Anton Yelchin (Clumsy Smurf), B.J. Novak (Baker Smurf), Alan Cumming (Gutsy Smurf), George Lopez (Grouchy Smurf), and Jonathan Winters (Papa Smurf).

In the movie a group of Middle Ages Smurfs led by Clumsy Smurf, wanderes into a forbidden grotto that transports them into present day Central Park in NYC. A married coule (Harris and Mays) finds the cute blue creatures and helps them find a way back home to their village before the evil wizard Gargamel (Azaria) catches them in our world.

The Smurfs 3D will be released on August 3, 2011.
