Sarah Lane: “I was Natalie Portman’s dancing double in ‘Black Swan’”
I feel betrayed – I always thought (based on the information from media sources) that Natalie Portman did all her own dancing in Black Swan and became a real ballerina while working on the movie that brought her first Oscar. However, professional ballerina Sarah Lane now says she was Natalie’s dancing double but was not allowed to talk about it until after the Oscars.
[Producers] were trying to create this facade that she had become a ballerina in a year and a half,” Sarah Lane said in her interview, adding that in Black Swan her face was digitally changed to look like Portman’s.
How could they hide such an important fact? To create more buzz? To increase chances for an Oscar win? That’s so low and so unfair, first of all to Sarah Lane who wasn’t even credited on IMDB for her work as a double.
I like Black Swan, I really do, but next time I’ll watch the movie, Natalie’s fantastic dancing skills will not impress me any more.

Sure it’s low and unfair, but that is Hollywood for you, they are masters of deception. If they dishonored a Russian ballerina, the Russian Mafia would make damn sure it was the last movie these people ever did.
