Rihanna Big TV Break Failed: Her “Styled To Rock” Show Debut Axed!

Styled To Rock show, which was broadcast on Sky Living earlier this year saw a selection of aspiring fashion designers being tasked with producing outfits for a range of celebrities before creating an outfit for Rihanna. Despite the show featuring appearances from “stars” including Cheryl Cole and Katy Perry and being hosted by Girls Aloud star Nicola Roberts, Rihanna’s TV project failed to be a hit with ratings when it fell to below 79,000. I’m not surprised to be honest. Nicola Roberts seems a nice enough girl but she is not a great personality for TV presenting at all and hardly a fashion icon. It’s no surprise Cheryl got the X Factor gig over the others in the band, as she at least did have a certain presence on screen. And for a fashion show everyone looked a mess.

Commenting on the axing of the show and revealing that the scheduling of the show was a “nightmare”, a source told the Mail Online:

Scheduling all these popstars with our filming schedule was a nightmare. Rihanna’s diary was manic, and to be honest, after it struggled for viewers it was always going to be difficult to get her to agree to do another series.”

It is thought that the show has now been picked up by the Style Network in the US. However, a spokesperson for Sky Living has played down the reports that the show has been axed, saying:

It is far too early to make a decision if the show would return for a second series. After every big launch, we undertake extensive research with our customers, and will make a decision when we evaluate the results.”
