I absolutely loved The Saddest Music in the World. Now Guy Maddin coming out with a new movie My Winnipeg which is described as “a hilariously wacky and profoundly touching goodbye letter to his childhood hometown. ”

Guy Maddin (Darcy Fehr) is a young man growing up in Winnipeg under the strict thumb of his mother (Ann Savage). Guy leads a relatively average life that is punctuated by intensely surreal moments, including a nasty fire at a public park to the discovery of a frozen lake filled with horse heads.”

Beauty In Trouble

As Czechs do well in the beginning of Euro 2008 they also are doing pretty well on the big screen movies. Beauty in Trouble is a story of money, sex, and a good man.

Recent history once again intrudes on the present-day lives of working Czechs in the masterful multicharacter drama Beauty in Trouble. Latest work from the fruitful, long-time partnership of director Jan Hrebejk and scripter Petr Jarchovsky deepens and expands the overarching ideas of fate, love and redemption found in their previous film, the equally resonant Up and Down. Duo’s work is a staple of the high-profile fest circuit, and will, following an early September domestic bow, be in great demand in territories where moving, human dramas are valued.”

Amazing thriller drama I can’t wait to see will also be released on June, 13th.

Isaac Knott is a Public Radio reporter in New York City who begins to recount a story about himself on the air. When he was eight, his mother and father died in an automobile accident that left him in a wheelchair.

Continuing his story, Isaac recounts how he recently received an anonymous tip from someone identified only as “Ancient Chinese Girl.” She tells him a perfectly able-bodied man walked into an emergency ward downtown, and attempted to bribe a doctor into amputating his leg.

Friday, 13th this June is the hot night for movie premiere. Make sure you have someone next to you so that nothing horrifying happens to you… Just kidding. I’m not superstitious.
