Learn Where The Wild Things Are
It’s a hugely anticipated movie and judging by the newly released stills it’s gonna be a lot of fun. Where The Wild Things Are is based on the children picture book by the same named written by Maurice Sendak in 1963.
Ten lines of the book were enough for Being John Malkovich director Spike Jonze to get inspired and actually get down to production. The filming started in 2006, and the movie was rumored to be interesting and “too dark and frightening”, just like the book itself.
James Gandolfini (The Sopranos), Forest Whitaker (Last King Of Scotland), Catherine O’Hara (Home Alone) and Paul Dano (There Will Be Blood) and others lent their voices to seven Wild Things creatures. The main charater, Max, is played by American schoolboy Max Records, 11, from Portland, Oregon.
The story line develops round mischievous Max who’s been sent to bed without supper for being naughty. In his bedroom he thinks up an imaginary world with big (ugly?) monsters that crown him his ruler.
The movie is set for release on October 16, 2009.
I’m excited to watch it, and I like these creatures. They look like costumes and it’s like going back to the roots. Aren’t you a little bit tired of CGI everywhere?
