Kristen Stewart in first trailer for ‘Welcome To The Rileys’

Kristen Stewart starring Welcome To The Rileys debuts the first official trailer.

The emotions-loaded drama is set for October 1st release in limited theatres across the country. Kristen Stewart’s work in the movie is praised and described as nothing less than “electrical”.

In Welcome To The Rileys Kristen Stewart plays Mallory, a young prostitute, a rebellious teen who has to provide for herself after running away from home.

Living in New Orleans Mallory meets Doug Riley (James Gandolfini). He and his wife (Melissa Leo), try to help her while she, in return, unites the grieving couple who has drifted apart after the death of their teenage daughter.

Both adults are deeply impressed by Mallory’s resemblance to their late daughter and want to help her though she’s not really willing to change her life for them.

In her interview with Dazed & Confused in September 2009 Kristen Stewart said Welcome To The Rileys was the film she most indentified with:

I play a 16 year old street kid prostitute stripper – but it’s the one film so far I mostly identify with. I play such a child, like she has the emotional stability of a 5 year old; she’s in her own little world that she had to close off at a certain point. She’s just really broken and she needs to be put back together, and she needs this guy.

It was the greatest experience on a movie I have ever had. Everyone was tight and it was the greatest crew, Jake Scott, the director, is Ridley Scott’s son. Now, keep in mind, I had a perfect upbringing, but I know what that feels in some way, to be this character,” Kristen concluded.

Welcome To The Rileys debuted at 2010 Sundance Film Festival this January.
