Jennifer Lopez gets $12 million for ‘American Idol’, gets rid of her diva image

Reports about Jennifer Lopez guest-judging one of the most popular TV shows, FOX’ American Idol have been swirling around for a while but it’s only now that they’ve been confirmed by the channel.

According to FOX, they’ve signed a $12 million deal with J Lo though Jen’s diva demands haven’t been met.

She was angling for an overall deal at Fox, including a put picture, to keep the movie career going. But Fox said no. In the old days, these were called a ‘vanity deal’ for good reason. They simply don’t exist today. Will Smith doesn’t have put pictures,” an insider revealed.

As a result, Jennifer Lopez agreed to sign the $12 deal with FOX though her initial demand was a $15 million paycheck. According to the source, she agreed because “she needs this money” to pay for her lavish lifestyle.

She didn’t turn up her nose up at $12 million,” the source added. “I would have been very surprised if she had walked away. She needs the money. She lives very very well. It comes at a cost.”

Lopez the diva also demanded to postpone announcement of her new American Idol judge role up until mid-September, the time her new single is supposed to be released. Seems like it’s the only point of the deal FOX wholeheartedly stands by.

Still, having a multi-million deal with the successful network and be sure everyone sees your face in primetime – that’s more than J Lo could actually bargain for!
