Hailee Steinfeld found her Romeo. It’s Douglas Booth

In spring it was reported young actress Hailee Steinfeld had signed up to play Juliet in the new screen adaptation of Romeo And Juliet by William Shakespeare. The new reports claim British actor and model Douglas Booth has been cast to play Romeo.

Douglas Booth is 19, he has modeled for Burberry (in those ads that also featured Emma Watson) and starred alongside Miley Cyrus in LOL: Laughing Out Loud. Booth shot to fame after portraying Boy George in BBC’s Worried About The Boy (2010).

The controversial new adaptation of Romeo And Juliet is currently in pre-production. The screenplay is written by Julian Fellowes (The Tourist) with Carlo Carlei directing the project.

Besides Hailee Steinfeld and Douglas Booth the movie will also star Ed Westwick as Tybalt, Holly Hunter as Juliet’s Nurse, and Kodi Smit-McPhee as Benvolio.
