Confirmed: Sacha Baron Cohen will play Freddie Mercury in biopic
Borat and Bruno depicter Sacha Baron Cohen is confirmed to star in the Freddie Mercury biopic. The yet-untitled movie will focus on Queen’s early years and their unforgettable appearance at Live Aid in 1985.
Sacha, who welcomed his second child about a month ago, will play Freddie Mercury in the movie. The two do look alike.
No word if Cohen will sing in the movie or Freddie Nercury’s voice will be used instead.
Also, it’s been reported the movie won’t cover Freddie’s last years. As you might know, Freddie Mercury died of AIDS in 1991 at the age of 45.
I’m super excited about this movie, simply can’t wait!
Your thoughts, will Sacha Baron Cohen make a good Freddie Mercury?

I’m not sure if Sacha will make a good Freddie or not. I adore Freddit so I may be a bit biased, as I don’t think anyone could imitate him correctly. However, Sacha is quite good at characters, so he may just pull it off. Plus, I’m just super stoked they’re making a movie about Queen!!!

Nope, Sasha is great at what he does, and even at being flamboyant and fabulous as freddie was, but he is also always very over the top, plus his eyes are too small to pull off the look. mark my words, he’ll look like Borat trying to be Freddie Mercury. Good luck Sasha, loved you as king julian but this is a stretch.
