AnnaSophia Robb to Play Young Carrie Bradshow

The Carrie Diaries will tell the story of a young Carrie Bradshaw coming of age in Manhattan in the 1980s. The show will follow the novel, of the same name, written by Candace Bushnell. Young Bradshaw will face issues such as love, sex, drugs and other teen problems. And the producers have chosen AnnaSophia Robb for portraying younger Sarah Jessica Parker’s character!

Raising actress AnnaSophia Robb is confirmed to play young Carry Bradshow.

I guess they did it as Anna Sophia is blonde, a little bit fashionable, and has two first names. Geez, this pretty young girl would have to stick on a prosthetic nose and a pair of big ears plus she would have to double that jaw line. She is way too pretty to play SJP! Imo, they might as well cast an Asian man for that role for all the similarities there are. AnnaSophia Robb looks absolutely nothing like Carrie Bradshaw. Only similarity is both have skinny bandy legs.

AnnaSophia is best known for playing one-armed surfer Bethany Hamilton in the 2011 film Soul Surfer, and has also appeared in Race to Witch Mountain, Bridge to Terabithia and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. The Warner Bros. series is based on Sex scribe Candace Bushnell’s novel, The Carrie Diaries.

The author, along with Josh Schwartz, Stephanie Savage, Len Goldstein and Amy B. Harris, will produce. The show is about young Carrie’s coming of age in the 1980’s while discovering her love of fashion and Manhattan.

Based on Candace Bushnell’s novel Carrie Diaries, the CW drama of the same name will be helmed by Gossip Girl’s Stephanie Savage and Josh Schwartz. The prequel to HBO’s smash Sex and the City will feature Robb coming of age in 1980s New York City alongside her rebellious little sister, played by Stefania Owen.

Sarah Jessica Parker first made the character of Carrie iconic in 1998 when the original series aired on HBO. Carrie is an author who also writes relationship columns and has an undying love of both the Big Apple and haute couture.

It is expected that she will meet her three small screen best friends – Samantha, Charlotte and Miranda – in the prequel.

I would suggest the creators Rumer Willis’ candidacy. I bet this gal would star young Carrie pretty well! And… she and SJP look so similar!
