‘Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows’ WONT be in 3D
Warner Bros. has revealed that Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows Part I will not be released in 3D as expected.
That’s the saddest news of the day, I’m hugely disappointed.
The studio explains their decision to release the seventh part of the Harry Potter franchise only in 2D saying that that’s how they can present the movie in its best quality as conversion in 3D will not be finished by November 19th, the release date set for the movie.
Despite everyone’s best efforts, we were unable to convert the film in its entirety and meet the highest standards of quality,” Warner Bros. said in the statement.
The studio has been working on 3D conversion for this entire year but, apparently, all their attempts to make Harry Potter embrace modern technology have failed.
This decision, which we completely support, underscores the fact that Warner Bros. has always put quality first,” director David Yates said.
However, studio bosses promise that the second part of the movie, Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows Part II, will be released in 3D next July.

Hell no! I’m glad it’s not in 3D. A lot of movies now use 3D as a crutch to make the movie ‘better’ and therefore they don’t put as much work into the movie as they do into the effects. They’ve already taken the magic out of HP; it’s all plot now. At least they won’t ruin it further by adding 3D. It just inflates the price.
