Stephenie Meyer on Breaking Dawn & Summit drama

The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn movie hasn’t been officially confirmed yet but there’s already a lot of gossip we hear regarding development of the movie.

Rumor #1 is definitely about the number of parts the movie will consist of when it’s finally made [Melissa Rosenberg is already working on the script]. The main Breaking Dawn gossip was that Twilight Saga author Stephenie Meyer strongly opposed to splitting the movie in two parts. Summit Entertainment studio bosses backed the idea causing a “drama” between them and Meyer.

Well, don’t believe everything you hear! Meyer took to her website to address the drama rumor. She said:

Just a quick note on the subject of the Breaking Dawn film: there is no drama over whether the book should be one movie or two. My personal feeling is that it would be very difficult to cram the whole story into one movie (as I’ve said in many interviews previous to this), but if a great way of doing that surfaces, I’m all for it. Two or one, whichever way fits the story best is fine by me, and everyone I’ve spoken with at Summit seems to feel the same way.”

September 2009 reports also claimed the movie would be split in two citing screenplay writer Melissa Rosenberg as the source.

I don’t really care how many parts they intend to make, just curious how they present the story on screen. The word in the street is that Breaking Dawn filming will probably start in fall 2010. Can’t wait!
