Spider-Man actress killed herself
Young talented actress in demand, Lucy Gordon, who starred in 2007’s Spider-Man 3 was found dead in her Paris apartment on Wednesday morning. Her boyfriend found her hanging but it was already too late to help.
Lucy Gordon was to turn 29 today and soon to be interviewed at the 62nd Cannes International Film Festival, presenting her latest movie Vie Heroique (Heroic Life) about French singer Serge Gainsbourg. Lucy played Jane Birkin who fell in love with the singer in 1969. Her work has been both praised by both critics and real Jane Birkin.
Though the results of the post-mortem examinations have not been revealed yet, French police believe the actress committed suicide.
Her neighbors claim they heard ‘a couple rowing’ the night before her tragic death, so her boyfriend was the first one to be questioned.
Her death has come completely out of the blue and the entire family is devastated,” Lucy Gordon’s farther said in the statement. “We have loved her so much throughout her life. She was the light of mine, her mum’s, and her sister’s lives.” “Lucy was a lovely, generous and unselfish person who always gave so much thought to other people and put them before herself…. Her career had been just taking off, and it’s a tragedy that it has been cut short so soon.”
Before making Spider-Man and Vie Heroique, Ms. Gordon also starred in Four Feathers (2002) with late Heath Ledger and Serendipity (2001) with John Cusack after quitting her modeling career. In 1997, at the age of 15 she was named face of Cover Girl.
My heart goes to Lucy’s family and friends.
Unfortunately, Ms. Gordon isn’t the only young and promising actress who’s passed away prematurely.
