Singaporean filmmaker Eric Khoo arrives in competition in Cannes with his latest film about an alcoholic magician.

Since his wife left him, Francis is a broken man.

He works as a bartender in a night club, and drowns his pain in alcohol.

His ten year old son manages on his own, but he’s angry at his father for not pulling himself together.
Because he loves his child, Francis decides to go back to his old job: being a magician…

Khoo is famous for his three critically acclaimed films that have been screened at film festivals all over the world. Those are Mee Pok Man in 1995, 12 Storeys in1997, and Be With Me. Three years ago Be With Me competed in 58th Annual Cannes Film Festival.
