Guess who could play Edward Cullen in ‘Twilight’ instead of Robert Pattinson

Have you ever heard of Shiloh Fernandez before? He’s coming back to big screen in March with the new movie Red Riding Hood co-starring Amanda Seyfried. He’s also a new cover guy for VMan magazine’s February 2011 issue.

In his interview for the publication Shiloh Fernandez, 25, talks about a huge opportunity he missed about three years ago when he failed to do well at the audition to star in Twilight to play the lead, vampire Edward Cullen, the role that skyrocketed Robert Pattinson to stardom.

No one had any idea what Twilight would become,” Shiloh told VMan. “At the time, it was just another audition. I didn’t realize I was missing out on stardom and giant paychecks. Now, looking back on it, I certainly wouldn’t have been mentally stable enough to deal with all that.”

It’s funny but Fernandez’s new movie Red Riding Hood is directed by Catherine Hardwicke, the same person that helmed Twilight in 2008.

Maybe Shiloh Fernandez would have even made a good Edward in Twilight. I almost see him with reddish hair and super pale skin and I like the picture.
