Breaking Dawn movie jeopardized?
Every one wants to get a piece of Stephenie Meyer’s Twilight pie.
Jordan Scott, 21, claims many of Meyer’s Breaking Dawn plot lines resemble her 2006’s vampire tale The Nocturne, AceShowbiz.com reported.
Scott’s tale was only published on her website and never saw the real light of day, but the young author claims Meyer used her ideas when describing the wedding, a post-wedding sex scene, a woman becoming sick because she’s carrying a child with “evil powers” in Breaking Dawn.
The source claims, Scott doesn’t look for any compensation from Meyer or her publishers yet seeks for “acknowledgment of the similarity and a cessation of the circulation of the book in addition to stopping the book from being adapted into a movie.”
WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT THAT?
We also want to stop them from making it into a movie and profiting from [Scott’s] work,” Jordan Scott’s lawyer said. “We seek an admission from Ms. Meyer that our client’s copyright was infringed and that Breaking Dawn and all derivative works be discontinued.”
Meanwhile, Stephenie Meyer’s rep denies all plagiarism claims.
The claim that Breaking Dawn by Stephenie Meyer somehow infringes on an alleged book by someone named Jordan Scott is completely without merit. Neither Stephenie Meyer nor her representatives had any knowledge of this writer or her supposed book prior to this claim,” his statement for MTV reads. “The world of the “Twilight Saga” and the stories within it are entirely the creation of Ms. Meyer. Her books have been a phenomenal sensation, and perhaps it shouldn’t be surprising to hear that other people may seek to ride the coattails of such success.”
For the record, Stephenie Meyer fansite found out that The Nocturne was copyrighted in 2008, while Breakin Dawn (originally Forever Dawn) was copyrighted in 2004.
So what plagiarism are we talking about?

This is stupid…. Breaking Dawn was released after publication in 2008…. and Stephanie wrote on Breaking Dawn for a long while. Heck it took her almost 2 years or so to write Twilight I believe. I wouldn’t be worried about anything this Jordan Scott character is just trying to ride the coatails. She has no claim to this, since Breaking Dawn came out for sale August 2008. I am sorry but I don’t know anyone who can write 30 chapters plus, and have it copyrighted in 8 months. Jealousy rears its ugly head once again!
