Berlinale winners

The 59th Annual Berlin International Film Festival was described by some media as something not that outstanding. According to pessimistic predictions, the Festival wouldn’t be a success and there would hardly be all the tickets sold.

But the Festival proved it was still one of the most prestigious movie festivals ever with all the tickets sold out and critics praising work of actors and directors.

Anyways, the Festival is over with all the Bears bestowed. So who were the winners?

The Berlinale jury have decided to award prizes to those efforts which achieve a balance between the political statement and the poetic form, the official statement read.

Alfred Bauer Prize

“The jury has unanimously this year decided to give the Alfred Bauer Prize to two films and two directors,” the jury announced. “One of these directors is an old master with 60 years of experience in film-making. The other director is a young man, here in Berlin with his first feature film, but imbued with the same passion to use cinema to do what cinema can do best: to tell important stories about our time and the human condition.”
