Award-winning directors for ‘Breaking Dawn’
Summit Entertainment hasn’t officially confirmed Breaking Dawn the movie but the word in the street is that studio bosses are in talks with some of the most talented directors of the time to helm the last fourth part of the super successful Twilight Saga.
According to EW that was the first to break the news, Summit has approached three completely diverse directors to consider their possible involvement with the vampire saga.
Robert Pattinson’s favorite director Gus Van Sant (Milk, Good Will Hunting) stands first in the line. Sant’s rep has confirmed that the director is indeed approached by the studio.
Other two award-winning directors include Sofia Coppola (Lost In Translation) and Bill Condon (Dreamgirls). Their reps haven’t commented yet.
The helmer can only be chosen next week after Twilight Saga screenplay writer Melissa Rosenberg delivers her detailed outline to the directors.
I keep my fingers crossed for Gus. His vision will definitely take Breaking Dawn to the whole new level.
In related Twilight Saga news, New Moon has been named the film of 2009 by filmgoers voting at the upcoming ShoWest convention. New Moon has scored 66% of the total vote.

I’m amazed they are even considering making that book into a film, it was the worst of all and the story doesn’t make a good movie.
