2009 Oscars – the 7 hottest
The Oscar ceremony is more than just honoring actors, directors, screenplay writers with golden awards, it’s the event of fashion, glam, beauty, and designer fantasy.
If you tell me you don’t pay attention to celebs’ style on the Oscars redcarpet, I won’t buy it.
Oscars is a major event with a lot of stars turn up, so it’s physically impossible to write about fashion and mention every single dress you’ve seen on the redcarpet. So these are dresses that I liked the most, whether you like it or not… I don’t really care, cause it’s my list anyway!
Foremost is 2009 Oscar princess, Miley Cyrus. It was her debut Oscar ceremony and she managed to make it unforgettable. I simply loved her dress! It was girlie, teeny, but at the same glam and gorgeous enough for such a big show. Magnificent!
R & B diva Beyoncé Knowles was gorgeous too. She dressed in Armani Prive curve-hugging black and gold strapless dress. I like the print.
I’m used to seeing Penelope Cruz wearing something classically black. But her choice for the Oscar show was beyond any praise. She wore a white vintage gown with silver embroidery, designed by Pierre Balmain. The special thing about her dress was that it was designed 60 years ago. Pretty old but still so in vogue.
Jennifer Aniston was another debutante at the show. Jen looked happy and beautiful in the embellished white strapless dress. It looked great against her beau, John Mayer’s classic tux.
The SATC star Sarah Jessica Parker looked lovely in Dior. In the interview she confessed she struggled with the full skirt and tight corset of the gown but on the outside she looked absolutely happy and enjoying being in the limelight.
Despite traditional black-and-white-palette, some of the celebrities opted for vibrant colors to brighten up the redcarpet, sort of.
Heidi Klum followed her 2008 Oscar vibe in the bright crimson off-shoulder gown. Bet you can hardly take your eyes of the slit on her dress, am I right?
Mamma Mia! starlet Amanda Seyfried was another lady in red. Her red dress followed this season’s main trend – big bow. Though I’m not really into bows, I liked her choice. You?
As to other 2009 Oscar dresses, I liked some, Angelina Jolie’s Elie Saab black strapless gown isn’t one of them, though.
