Cannes-mania continues!

Friday at the 62nd Cannes International Film Festival was marked by screening of two films, the in competition Bright Star and Un Certain Regard Precious.

Bright star starring English actor Ben Whishaw and Australian cutie dating Ryan Phillippe, Abbie Cornish, is about the love affair between poet John Keats, who died at the age of 25, and his young neighbor Fanny Brawne.

Abbie Cornish arrived at the screening in a beautiful purple tiered, pleated purple dress. She looked beautiful but was anyway overshadowed by Desperate Housewives star Eva Longoria who dazzled the redcarpet in the ice blue Atelier Versace Spring 2009 gown with a shimmering train.

To look absolutely stunning she paired her look with her favorite Yves Saint Laurent platform slingbacks and her beloved accessory – a basketball player hubby Tony Parker who looked dapper cute in the black tux.

Alongside Bright Star Cannes guests could enjoy Precious starring Mariah Carey, Lenny Kravitz, Paul Patton, Mo’Nique and Gabourey Sidibe.

The film was honored the Best Drama award honored at Sundance Film Festival earlier this year and stands all chances to win everybody’s heart here, at Cannes.

It tells a heartbreaking story of abuse, neglect and despair portraying life of the HIV-positive 16 year old New York girl who’s pregnant with her second child after being repeatedly sexually abused by her farther.

Mariah Carey looks unrecognizable in this film playing a so-not-glam social worker who tries to help the girl. Gabourey Sidibe playing Precious is absolutely stunning in the role, she’s really good, especially if we take into consideration it’s her first movie role ever.

Mariah Carey looked elegant at Precious photocall in the ivory dress that she changed for a black designer gown during the screening later that night.

Precious became Mariah’s fourth film in career and is actually the only one so far that’s worth watching at all.
