JK Rowling encourages witchcraft?
Though George W Bush’s presidency is history now we’ll have enough to gossip about due to Matt Latimer’s scandalous memoir, Speechless: Tales Of A White House Survivor. In his book Bush’s former speech writer reveals some secrets of ex president and his administration.
While I’m not quite interested in getting deep into politics, I will only cover one of the scandalous and celebrity-related points of the book.
Harry Potter fans, are you ready?
According to Latimer, Harry Potter author JK Rowling lost U.S.’s highest civilian honor, the Presidential Medal of Freedom that acknowledges contributions to the U.S. national interest, world peace or cultural endeavors, because people in the administration considered her book dangerous for the society.
“Narrow thinking” led people to object to giving Rowling the medal because the Harry Potter books “encourage witchcraft.”
That’s the most ridiculous thing I’ve heard today! If follow the pattern Twilight author Stephenie Meyer promotes blood sucking. How lame.
