Etta James is fierce and bitter about Beyonce
People say there can’t be friendship among women. I say yes, there can until these women don’t get their interests concerned or feelings hurt.
Etta James got fierce about Beyoncé Knowles’ singing her song ‘At Last’ at Inaugural Ball on January 20.
Saying she “can’t stand Beyonce” who’s “gonna get her ass whooped,” James, 71, added the young singer-turned-actress who portrayed her in The Cadillac Records had no right to sing her song at the Ball.
I tell you that woman he [President Obama] had singing for him, singing my song, she gonna get her ass whooped… The great Beyonce … but I can’t stand Beyonce. She has no business up there, singing up there on a big ol’ president day … singing my song that I’ve been singing forever,” she told people at her concert last week.
What a fierce old lady Etta is!
Being 71 Etta probably doesn’t remember that she herself also sang somebody’s song at her time. According to JustJared.com, ‘At Last’ was first performed in 1961 by Glenn Miller (1941) and then by Nat King Cole in 1957 before she took the song and made it “her” song.

Etta James is right and wrong. Obama looks like a freak with those ears. Beyonce does need her face slapped.
But Etta James did not make “At Last” famous. Glenn Miller made “At Last” famous about 16 years before Etta James got to it.
