Kris Jenner Defends Giving Kim Birth Control at 14

Kris Jenner was grilled this week when it was revealed she allowed daughter Kim Kardashian to get birth control when she was “almost 15”. Now momager is steadfastly defending her decision. Kris tells Bethenny Frankel in an interview airing Monday:

You want to protect your kids. Kim came to me and you know, was very honest with me and said ‘Mommy I think I’m feeling, you know, sexual.”

Mommy..? Wtf? First of all if your child is still calling you “mommy”, they should definately shouldn’t be thinking about sex!

So Jenner continues:

What I did as a parent with all my girls. When I felt like it was that time in their life that they were going to that step … I drive as fast as I could to the gynecologist’s office.”

Kris says it then became a matter of wanting to protect Kim. She took her daughter to her trusted gynecologist, Dr. Paul Crane, and said:

She’s all yours. You can go in the office and have the little doctor patient talk. It was, like, her first time there and I said ‘You guys got to work this out. I don’t need to know as long as you got it under control, Paul Crane.”

The open-book matriarch adds:

You can try and talk your kids out of it, but unless you lock your child in the closet and throw the key away, they’re going to do what they feel. So my philosophy has also been make sure your kids are healthy, well taken care of and educated.”

Healthy? ‘Almost’ 15-year-old taking hormones – I don’t think it’s healthy at all. When you are older, it’s okay, but at this age? It’s double-edged!
