Selena Gomez will pay tribute to Britney Spears during Summer 2011 tour

Selena Gomez has revealed her plans for the Summer 2011 US tour that’ll begin in late July in support of her second studio album. In her interview Selena gushed that the tour would be her way to pay tribute to one of her favorite performers, Britney Spears.

We’re gonna do a little tribute. We’re gonna do her hits, ‘ … Baby One More Time,’ and then I think we’re going to try to incorporate ‘Toxic’ and that phase. And then we might do some of her recent, new stuff,” Selena Gomez told MTV.

In her previous interviews Selena said Britney Spears’ was the first concert she ever went to wearing “the Britney t-shirt and glow stick.” So she thought a new US tour was the best way to show her love for the singer.

[I] cannot explain how excited I am to finally be putting on a full tour for all of you. I cannot wait to see you out on the road!” Gomez tweeted.

The Summer 2011 tour will include 25 dates and feature Allstar Weekend as Selena’s opening act throughout the tour.
