Kurt Cobain’s guitar costs hellova lot

Celebrity status and fan love is timeless. Kurt Cobain proves I’m right.

His smashed guitar was sold at an auction on Tuesday and cost $100,000. Nirvana frontman smashed the guitar at one of the shows during the first band’s US tour, the source reported. Though smashed, the guitar is still working.

It’s a really cool-looking guitar because it’s smashed and held together with duct tape and Kurt Cobain wrote on it,” senior curator at the Experience Music Project in Seattle said.

The guitar is so precious cause it’s smashed.

There’s not a huge amount of broken Nirvana guitars out there,” the curator added.

The buyer would allow the instrument to return to Seattle for a Cobain exhibit in 2010, the source revealed.

The guitar’s the second highest priced Cobain owned item ever sold. In 2006 Kurt’s Mosrite Gospel Mark IV guitar was sold for $131,000.
