Gossip Girl’s Leighton Meester is releasing debut album

Gossip Girl‘s style icon Leighton Meester who’s been working on her debut album for way too long now, has said she’s almost ready to release it.

In her interview with In Touch Leighton said she was still writing songs for the debut record taking her time to make the record “perfect.”

Leighton is going to get back to performing “very soon” as now she’s working with the band, recording new songs.

It’s a different sound, because I’ve been going through a lot this year,” Leighton Meester said. “I’m in no rush. I want it to be perfect!”

Judging by what I’ve already heard, Leighton’s got a pretty nice voice.

FYI, you can hear Leighton Meester sing in the new movie, Country Song, out January 7, 2011. Two years ago, Meester was also featured on Cobra Starship’s ‘Good Girls Go Bad.’
