Far East Movement’s Top 10 Albums of 2010

I know you’ve already heard about the new up and coming band and VMA nominee Far East Movement and their smash hit ‘Like a G6.’

Ahead of their debut album release earlier this month (Free Wired hit stores October 12th), the LA based band sat down with GlamourVanity to talk about their top 10 albums of the year. Guess what, Free Wired is also on the list!

10. FAR EAST MOVEMENT – FREE WIRED

FM: U know we have to. We set out to make an alternative pop album fusing hip hop, alternative, electro, pop and anything that inspires us in our playlist to create a new free wired sound that reps how we live in downtown LA. Slizzuuurd and Free Wired.

9. DAN BLACK – UN

FM: Dude is a gentleman and an incredibly talented artist. We toured with him and was there when we got nominated for a VMA. His sound and visual are next level and the album gets 3 fingers up from FM.

8. LINKIN PARK – A THOUSANDS SUNS

FM: One of our favorite bands.. and always excited for what they drop next. Was refreshing and sick to hear them blend new sounds for this album fusing their style with electronic sounds.

7. PASSION PIT – MANNERS

FM: They own at this genre but are true free wired musicians, making crazy hits with top producers, song writers and artists in the game.. crazy to see how many genres they can own.. free wired music right here.

6. BIG BOI – SIR LUCIOUS LEFT FOOT

FM: Outkast was one of our biggest influences growin up so hearing anything with Big Boi is a plus. This album brings out the classic pimp flow. Love it.

5. B.O.B. – ADVENTURES OF BOBBY RAY

FM: Love how B.O.B. is outside the box on his collabs, beat choice and verses. His cadences remind us of everything we loved about classic underground west coast rhymes and cutting edge southern spit. He’s free wired no doubt.

4. LCD SOUNDSYSTEM- THIS IS HAPPENING

FM: Been fans of LCD for a while. They always bring that new head trip and create a sound to zone out and cruise downtown LA nights to.

3. BRUNO MARS – DOO WOPS AND HOOLIGANS

FM: Blessed to work with Bruno Mars back in the day and even now on our new album Free Wired so we’ve seen how beast he is as a writer and producer and this album is his masterpiece. Every song has his heart in it.

2. ROBYN – BODY TALK 1

FM: We went on tour with Robyn and got a chance to see her perform the whole album live. It’s one of the best performances we’ve ever seen and every song is an incredibly written and produced experience.

1. EMINEM – RECOVERY

FM: We’ve been Eminem fans since Infinite and this album to us might be his best next to Marshall Mathers. Non stop lines and classic Em metaphors and the energy and passion is off the hook while still being able to have top radio singles…

As of now, Far East Movement is on the “Up In The Air” tour with Mike Posner.
