Metallic strappies to update a party outfit

And now they’ve gone one step further. Look are now reporting that a key look for ladies party shoes this season are metallic strappies. Celebs including True Blood‘s Anna Paquin and actress Demi Lovato have been seen wearing Pierre Hardy metallic sandals and it’s a look that has been copied on the high street.

Look claims that the look has been “an instant hit with the hip crowd”, and they have plenty of advice for anyone looking to follow the trend.

They say that “straps forming a cage effect are the best option to nail the look. Criss-cross styles score extra style points.”

They also reckon that the top of the shoe should finish at the ankle so that they have “a bootie effect” while “buckle fastenings or zip-up backs are both on trend”.

And for colour, well the magazine has that covered too, they say that “multiple metallic tones of gold, silver and bronze provide a designer colour blend, but one shade all over is just as good”.

Metallics were a key look on the catwalks this season with Lanvin, Balmain and Isabel Marant all sending metallics down the runway. However, gone are the days of shiny and bright metallics instead they’ve been replaced by grubby golds and lived in metallics.

Vogue advises us to “look for other metallic off-colours; choose pewter over silver and dirty bronze over shiny gold.”

While Glamour experts say that “fashion is bringing back party season’s staples – from shimmering silver and gold to sequins and sparkling embellishments.”
