Lady GaGa explains the meat dress from 2010 MTV VMAs

After her success at 2010 MTV Video Music Awards and her uber extravagant fashion at the event, the first question everyone wants to ask Lady GaGa is: “Why the meat dress?”

Lady GaGa visited The Ellen DeGeneres Show last night to talk about the show, her look and the meaning behind it.

That’s what GaGa said about her meat dress:

Well, it is certainly no disrespect to anyone that is vegan or vegetarian,” Gaga explained. “As you know, I am the most judgment-free human being on the earth. However, it has many interpretations.
For me this evening, if we don’t stand up for what we believe in and if we don’t fight for our rights pretty soon, we’re going to have as much rights as the meat on own bones. And, I am not a piece of meat.”

Nice explanation, Lady!

In case you forget, GaGa donned three different outfits at 2010 MTV VMA. One was a meat dress by Argentinean designer Franc Fernandez, the other two were a renaissance-style printed dress and a black floor-sweeping dress by late designer and GaGa’s good friend Alexander McQueen.
