Avril Lavigne’s fashion line at 2009 NYFW
Canadian songstress Avril Lavigne, 24, presented her personal fashion collection, Abbey Dawn, at New York Fashion Week on Monday.
Looking posh and rock chic glamourous, Avril was all smiles hitting the catwalk to present her first clothing range made with teens and tweens in mind.
Abbey Dawn Spring 2010 was named after Lavigne’s childhood’s nickname and consists of typical teenage wear with tons of hoodies.
Punk style is felt throughout the collection with blacks and pinks prevail. Generally, Abbey Dawn features neon pinks, black and white checks, bowler hats, top hats, leopard print and mussed-up school wear.
I have a very particular style. I want it to be available to a lot of girls, and I want it to be affordable,” Avril said. “What’s really important to me is that everything fits well and is well-made, so I try everything on and approve it all,” she added noting that her line is basically “everything I wear” with a lot zebra print, stars and purple.
You know I never thought I would say that but I like the collection. It’s so exuberantly punk hot!
