Cause of Whitney Houston’s Death Revealed
Unfortunately, it looks like our worst expectations were right – Whitney Houston’s official cause of death involves drug use. The L.A. County Coroner’s office confirms that the singer used cocaine immediately before her death, leading to a ‘cardiac event’. And ‘all traces of cocaine’, including bed sheets were allegedly removed from Whitney Houston’s hotel room by the person who supplied it to Whitney before authorities arrived here. The coroner’s report also reads that at the time of her death there was cocaine present in Whitney’s system.
Whitney Houston, who died at age 48 in a Beverly Hills hotel room bathtub last month, had cocaine in her body which contributed to her death.
Whitney Houston was found dead on Feb. 11 by her bodyguard at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles. A source close to the investigation also tells that a potential heart attack could have left the troubled singer unconscious in the bathtub, causing her to drown.
Houston’s death came one day before the 54th annual Grammy Awards, during which Jennifer Hudson sang a tearful tribute to her idol, performimg I Will Always Love You.
The singer was buried in a New Jersey cemetery next to her father after an emotional four-hour funeral service that was attended by friends, family and superstars such as Oprah Winfrey, Tyler Perry, Alicia Keys, Mariah Carey, Mary J. Blige, Jennifer Hudson and Roberta Flack.
Just two days before Houston died she was pictured looking touselled and bleeding outside a Los Angeles nightclub. They were also telling that she was partying with friends in the bar if the Beverly Hilton Hotel on the night before her death.
Whitney Houston admitted to using cocaine and marijuana during her stormy 14 year marriage to Bobby Brown. During this wild time, Brown was arrested for drugs and alcohol, but Whitney got drug rehabilitation programs twice.
But as she struggled with drugs, her majestic voice got pretty raspy, and she couldn’t hit the high notes. And just like Michael Jackson’s case, interest in her music has skyrocketed since her death, pushing her songs back on to charts and into strong rotation on the radio statons.
Since her death, media attention has landed on Houston’s daughter, Bobbi Kristina, who is reportedly romantically involved with her unofficially adopted brother Nick Gordon – although rumors of the pair’s engagement have been shot down. Bobbi Kristina will also serve as the sole heir to Houston’s estate.
Ms. Houston, a sensation from her first, eponymous album in 1985, was one of the world’s best-selling artists from the mid-1980s to the late 1990s, turning out such hits as I Wanna Dance With Somebody,How Will I Know, The Greatest Love of All and I Will Always Love You.
Yes, we must admit that: Whitney was a drug user who killed herself and nobody else is to blame. Choose drugs you choose your fate and she should never ever be hailed as a hero or role model. That crown slipped off years ago. Anyway, RIP, Whitney Houston…
P.S. Kevin Costner, who starred with Whitney Houston in The Bodyguard, pays tribute to the pop icon at her funeral in New Jersey:
