More 2009 VMA news: Lady GaGa will perform!

She’s leading the 2009 MTV VMA nom list and, more excitedly, Lady GaGa’s scheduled to perform at the show!

As MTV has just announced, Jay-Z and ‘Poker Face’ singer joined the line of performers for the September 13th glam event.

GaGa will perform one of her hits from Fame, and Jay-Z will sing one of The Blueprint 3 singles.

MTV asked their viewers who they thought would have a smasher performance at the show – Jay-Z or Lady GaGa. More than a half of respondents were sure Lady Gaga would have the better showing at the VMAs. Some even believed she would have the greatest performance of anybody that night.

Do you agree with that?

Lady GaGa even hinted at what her performance costume would be like:

I would say that the fashion for the performance is a representation of the most stoic and memorable martyrs of fame in history,” she told Newsweek. “It’s intended to be an iconic image that represents people. I think after watching the performance and maybe studying it after you watch it on YouTube, you’ll see the references and the symbols come through.”

Earlier it was revealed that the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards performers’ line-up would include Green Day, P!nk, Taylor Swift and Muse.

Presenters will include Katy Perry, Nelly Furtado, Chace Crawford, Leighton Meester, Ne-Yo, and Miranda Cosgrove from iCarly.

Just like last year, the show ill be hosted by the British rascal Russell Brand.
