Lady Gaga Honored for Contribution to LGBTQ community

The Hollywood A-listers were shining at the Hollywood Palladium on Sunday night for the Trevor Live show benefiting the Trevor Project, which helps the LGBTQ (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and questioning) community under the age of 24, by suicide prevention and crisis intervention. So, Lady Gaga was the highlight of the event having gained the Trevor Hero Award for ‘being an inspiration to youth and increasing visibility and understanding of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and questioning community.’ Marry the Night singer has recently founded her Born This Way Foundation to encourage youth to be proud of who they are and to treat and accept others as they are. She was introduced by the family of Jamey Rodemeyer, the gay teen who committed suicide in September after years of being bullied and cowed. Lady Gaga has paid tribute to him in the past, including at September’s iHeartRadio music festival in Las Vegas. She said:

This award means more to me than any Grammy I could ever win.”

David McFarland, CEO of The Trevor Project said:

We are proud to honour Lady Gaga with the Trevor Hero Award… for their work to help young people express their true selves with pride.”

I must say that Lady Gaga went really lady for this event. She’s known to get inspired of various things and people, even sperm. But this time she took inspiration from Emily Blunt’s young Victoria character and showed off her inner queen, so to say. OMG, she wore a simple make-up! Can you imagine that? Moreover, she donned an uncomplicated hairdo, an elegant hairdo that was completed by an elaborate diamond headpiece! Moreover, her asymmetrical dress decorated with a diamond encrusted snake shaped strap looked pretty cool on her… Lady Gaga, you go on surprise us…
