Grammys 2013: Biggest Moments & Full Winners List
Katy Perry in Gucci, Kelly Rowland in Georges Chakra, Jennifer Lopez in Anthony Vaccarello
Grammys 2013 Biggest Moments
Grammys 2013 held yesterday at the Staples Center, L.A. were all about glamour and crazy looks. Although the organizers of the event restricted dress code to “adequately covered” some of the stars still went for sheer, flesh-revealing, cleavage-exposing outfits. The celebs that walked a thin line were Jennifer Lopez in that lef revealing dress, Kelly Rowland in that sheer paneled gown, and Katy Perry in a mint long-sleeved dress with an open neck.
Florence Welch in Givenchy, Alicia Keys in Azzedine Alaia, Beyonce in Osman
Speaking of outfits, they mostly were cool, even award ceremony-like but there still were some outlandish and simply eye-raising looks. For example, Florence Welch’s custom green spiked Givenchy dress looked err unusual while Kerli’s whole look was out of this world as the singer wore Sailor Moon’s hair, black horns, and pink eyebrows. Bonnie McKee wore her two-toned hair in a red-flamed braid that definitely attracted attention.
Kimbra & Gotye
Left – Bonnie McKee, Right – Kerli
The show itself opened with Taylor Swift’s half circus, half Alice in Wonderland number for We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together which had singer wear a glittery top hat and dance with the acrobats and fire dancers.
Later the evening goes heavy on collaboration performances like the ones between Rihanna and Mikky Ekko, Rihanna and Ziggy Marley, Maroon 5 and Alicia Keys, Elton John and Ed Sheeran, Miranda Lambert and Dierks Bentley, and more. Carrie Underwood took to the stage wearing a Theia dress that changed images during her performance of “Blown Away” and “Two Black Cadillacs”.
Justin Timberlake performed his new song “Suit & Tie” during which the the cameras turned sepia to complement the mood of the performance.
Other big moments of the night were the Rihanna and Chris Brown’s presence as a couple. The couple were photographed together smiling and all. Then when Frank Ocean won the same award for which Brown was nominated the latter didn’t stand up but applauded. The pair, reportedly had a fight over the parking lot which resulted in a brawl with 6 people and police involved. It’s also said that Brown used a homophobic slur against Ocean and threatened him.
Moving to the next Grammys moment though, or two, or three. Ellen DeGeneres checked out Katy Perry’s cleavage, announced Justin Timberlake with Beyonce and got photobombed with wife Portia de Rossi by Kelly Clarkson.
Then there were such stars like Prince and Johnny Depp presenting and announcing performances while other stars like Jessica Biel and Carey Mulligan kept low profile supporting their husbands.
Lena Dunham came to support musician boyfriend Jack Antonoff and got to chat with idol Taylor Swift in the audience.
