2009 MTV VMAs – Fashion Faux Pas

While some stars were all glam and chic at last night’s 26th annual MTV Video Music Awards ceremony, some looked ridiculous and fashion-inappropriate for such a glam event. No show without fashion faux pas!

Shakira and P!nk looked great at the show. The leather mini dress decorated with multiple small chains looked great on both of them. Girls, there are dozens of great designers out there and you came to pick the same designer and the same dress for the same event? An ultimate fashion face-off!

Lady GaGa made quite a show turning up on the redcarpet in a Phantom of the Opera-styled half mask, all-black feathered dress and a huge hat.

I expected something extravagant from the singer but she surpassed all my expectations.

While Lady GaGa looked stunning, former Cheetah Girl Abrienne Bailon looked ridiculous. Her bright chicken yellow dress with pink leopard prink was awful. One must be crazy to wear something like This to a glam event as massive as VMAs. Is Bailon’s stylist color-blind?

Amber Rose’s snake print bodysuit looked completely out-of-place to me. She paired it with enormously heavy jewelry and totally ruined the ambiguous image.

I like the way Kanye West looks, but after what he did to Taylor Swift, I say: you suck, Kanye!

You know, I’m still undecided on Jack Black’s faux biceps and triceps. I never really considered muscles to be redcarpet attire, so I don’t know what to think about his redcarpet look. What do you think?
