2009 MTV VMA winners: Beyonce & GaGa come in a tie
Time to count the Moonmen guys!
While many people predicted it would be Lady GaGa winning in most of the categories she was nominated for at the 26th annual MTV Video Music Awards, and while many Glamour Vanity readers thought it would be Britney’s night just like last year, 2009 MTV VMAs met neither of the expectations.
As to Britney, she only won in one category out of 7, taking home the Best Pop Video award for ‘Womanizer’. Anyways, congrats Brit!
As to Lady GaGa and Beyoncé Knowles, they drew with three Moonmen for each, though Beyonce got the main award, Video of The Year for ‘Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It)’. Lady GaGa took a Moonman for ‘Poker Face’ as the Best New Artist, while ‘Paparazzi’ brought her Best Art Direction and Best Special Effects awards.
Beyonce was honored with Video Of The Year, Best Choreography and Best Editing awards. Congrats, B!
Green day did great, too, getting home three Moonmen for Best Rock Video, Best Cinematography and Best Direction.
