2009 CFDA Fashion Awards: Fashion Hits & Misses
The Council of Fashion Designers of America‘s annual awards ceremony was held this Monday in New York City to honor the best in designer and fashion world for the past year. While likes of Marc Jacobs, Alexander Wang and Jason Wu arrived to receive their gongs, A-listers flocked to present awards and just hot up the glam event.
Though 2009 CFDA Fashion Awards were supposed to be all about fashion and style, there were certain celebrity fashion hits and misses. What should I start with?
Hits
I loved silver fashion at 2009 CFDAs. Heidi Klum looked fabulous in her silver toga-style one-shoulder dress. The Victoria’s Secret model looked radiant flaunting her growing baby bump and turning the designer dress into a very sexy maternity style gown. She paired the sliver gown with matching color heels, heavy earnings and clutch. Glamorous!
Spider-Man actress Kristen Dunst also opted for silver for the ceremony. Bandage mini dress looked great. And Kristen looked her unusual healthy self. Glad for her.
Michelle Trachtenberg looked pretty flirty in the sliver top and silk pencil skirt. She completed her look with a narrow belt, elegant necklace and bracelet, and peep-toe black pumps.
Gossip Girl star Blake Lively dazzled the red carpet in her strapless Michael Kors bright fuchsia dress. I loved the pocket detailing.
Soon-to-be-married Claire Danes chose black for the event. The body-hugging striped dress stressed her toned body and blonde locks. Crimson lipstick added Hollywood charm to her look, don’t you agree?
Misses
Maybe you can tell me what Doutzen Kroes was thinking about choosing this Carmen-style dress? She was definitely one of the brightest stars of the night but totally not sexy.
The same can be said about Ashley Olsen who turned 23 this past Saturday. Why always hide your body behind meters and meters of fabric, Ashley? IMHO, this red dress made her look much older her age.
