2008 UNICEF Snowflake Lighting in NY
She is fresh back to the States following a string of overseas concerts but she is right back to work.
Rihanna was on-hand for the 2008 UNICEF Snowflake Lighting in New York City on Wednesday evening.
The UNICEF Snowflake is the largest outdoor chandelier of its kind – 23 feet in diameter, over 28 feet in height and weighing 3,300 pounds. Adorned with 16,000 Baccarat crystal prisms it is an iconic fixture as a reminder of UNICEF’s commitment to do whatever it takes to save a child.
Gucci Creative Director Frida Giannini and Neyo were there to accompany the Disturbia singer to a cocktail party in the Gucci 5th Avenue flagship store for the launch of the 4th annual Gucci Campaign to Benefit UNICEF which supports education, healthcare, and protection and clean water programs for orphans and children affected by HIV/AIDS in sub-Saharan Africa.
Rihanna is spokesmodel for Gucci’s new campaign for The United Nations Children’s Fund. She fronts the Tattoo Heart range of products. A quarter of all profits made from the line will be donated to the children’s charity. The cause is HIV/AIDS affected kids in Africa.
