Beyonce and Jay-Z Welcomed a Baby Girl Named Blue Ivy Carter!

One of Hollywood’s most anticipated babies has reportedly been welcomed into the world as several media outlets are reporting that Beyonce Knowles gave birth on Saturday night to her first child, a daughter reportedly named Blue Ivy Carter — taking the last name of Jay-Z, whose real name is Sean Carter.The news was un-officially confirmed by Jay-Z’s prodigy Rihanna, Bey’s sister Solange, Russell Simmons, and other pals who tweeted to congratulate the couple.

Beyonce reportedly checked into Lenox Hill Hospital on New York’s Upper East Side on Friday, under the name Ingrid Jackson, a hospital staffer told the NY Daily News, adding that she and hubby Jay-Z rented out the hospital’s entire fourth floor for $1.3 million!

Beyonce announced her pregnancy on August 28 on the red carpet at the MTV Video Music Awards, hours before performing her joyful single, Love on Top.The announcement came exactly two months after the release of 4, Beyonce’s fourth solo album, which has sold 1.04 million copies, according to Nielsen SoundScan. Earlier that month, Jay-Z released Watch The Throne, a collaborative album with Kanye West.

Jay-Z and Beyonce were originally believed to be expecting their first child in February 2012, but a behind-the-scenes clip from the Countdown video shoot in September suggests that Beyonce was six months pregnant at the time of filming, and that the couple was expecting a December arrival.

The best-selling rapper and former Destiny’s Child leader began dating in 2002, and have collaborated on hit singles like Crazy in Love, 03 Bonnie and Clyde and Deja Vu. The couple married in April 2008.

It’s interesting that on Friday I saw pics where Beyonce was still pregnant(or still wearing fake baby bump), which were taken Thursday night. It was a photo op designed to show us that Beyonce is still preggo, and to keep us on our guard that the birth could go down at any moment. Well, it did. Blue Ivy Carter. Baby Blue. Okay. Another daft baby name but I guess when the baby grows up it would curse Bey and Jay-Z for such a stupid name.

Within hours of the birth being revealed, a fake account claiming to represent baby Blue Ivy – but with her name spelt the wrong way round – appeared on Twitter. That picture is so funny!
