Cynthia Nixon, who plays Miranda in Sex and The City, announced her engagement to the long-term girlfriend Christine Marinoni.

The couple, who raise two children from Nixon’s previous marriage together, announced their decision to get married at The Love, Peace and Marriage Equality rally held in New York this Sunday.

I think we would definitely get married if it became legal in New York,” Cynthia Nixon said showing off her engagement ring. “I don’t really want to get married to get married pretend. I think we’d like to do it in a real, actual, legal way that the state would recognize.”

Congrats to the happy couple!

It’s been about a year since the actress went publicly gay.
