Javier Bardem’s pals have revealed to the National Enquirer that the actor’s mother Pilar had asked him to make his relationship with Penelope Cruz official:

Pilar took her son aside and told him, ‘What’s the matter with you? She’s perfect! You love her, she loves you. Get married,'”.

The hot couple had started dating last year after shooting for Woody Allen’s movie ‘Vicky Cristina Barcelona’ in Spain. Looking at the Penelope’s dating track this is the guy. Compare to the other two, Tom Cruise and Matthew McConaughey, she dated in the past, he’s the real deal. He matches her hot Spanish high temper.

The wedding is expected by the end of 2008.
