Christina Aguilera, husband Jordan Bratman split

It’s such a bad week for celebrity marriages. Christina Aguilera and her husband of 5 years Jordan Bratman have announced separation, US Weekly has reported.

Though claiming that “there are no divorce proceedings at the point”, the couple are now living apart. Christina and Jordan first separated “a few months ago” and are now trying to figure out what to do next.

They were very much in love. But over the last six months, it became clear they were more like friends than husband and wife,” the insider told the source.

Even though separated, both Christina Aguilera and Jordan Bratman are keen to remain on friendly terms for the sake of their 2-year old son Max.

Although Jordan and I are separated, our commitment to our son Max remains as strong as ever,” Christina told PEOPLE in the statement issued yesterday.

Christina Aguilera and Jordan Bratman met in 2002 and married three years later in November 2005. Having certain marital problems, Aguilera and Bratman even went on a romantic trip in August this year to “rekindle their relationship, but it didn’t help.”

Hope they’ll work things out the best way possible.

Just thinking, can Christina’s recent weight gain be connected with the split? Guess so.
