Global warming, limited natural resources, pollution, how often do we hear that we should stop for a second and think about future generations, which are actually in a risk of living in a deserted land and not even knowing what a green tree might look like. I always picture some horrible Ray Bradbury-style scenario when thinking about environmental issues, do you?
But when you’re a celeb, you have a great opportunity to be actually heard when you try to say something important, something that matters. Role-modeling is a truly positive thing. So, here’s the list of eco-friendly celebs. Pick your fave role-model!
10. Will Ferrell
He’s an active supporter of the Natural Resources Defense Council, he drives an electric car and is turning his house into truly eco-friendly one. He’s also made an eco-comedy special for TBS, Earth to America!

Norton launched BP’s Solar Neighbors Program, which gets solar panels onto low-income homes in L.A., and he hosted a four-part National Geographic TV special about the negative and dustructive effects of global environmental problems.

The world’s richest supermodel is launching her plastic sandals collection Ipanema 2009 for the SOS Mata Atlantica, the program patronizing the gallery forest, the vegetation circumscribe rivers and streams, and still water. Hannah is so hard-core green that she was arrested last year for staging a 23-day tree-sit in a bid to save L.A.’s South Central Farm. Her house operates entirely off the grid, she drives a biodiesel car, promotes eco-friendly attitude online and even has a couch made of mossy stone that she has to water to keep it alive.

Rosenthal has reportedly recycled the Everybody Loves Raymond ‘s set furniture to turn it into kitchen table seats in his guesthouse.

Mr. Redford promotes using solar energy, has campaigned for Utah wilderness, and is highly concerned about climatic change and tries his best to deal with it at city level. He also spreads eco-awareness on his channel. Besides, he’s been on the board of the Natural Resources Defense Council for the last 30 years.

Driving a hybrid Toyota Prius, Leo always keeps ecology in mind. In 1998, he started the Leonardo DiCaprio Foundation to promote environmental causes. He’s constructed an eco-friendly house in London and has been working on 11th Hour, a global-warming documentary featuring interviews with global green leaders.

Hey,
Kudos to Phil Rosenthal and his cork oak floors! We hope the floors are ours…but even if not, we are still impressed with his dedicated efforts to go eco-friendly. Not a tree is harmed or cut down when harvesting the cork oak bark from the tree. Now that’s sustainable…
