Sarah Palin is the new Oprah?
Former Alaska Governor and now just a mother of three and possible 2010 Presidential candidate, Sarah Palin is eyeing her own reality show to become a part of one of the top-notch cable networks and eventually bring her as much as $1 million per episode right from the beginning!
That’s something you’ve never seen before during the first season of the show.
Two networks, A&E and Discovery, are the main candidates to welcome Sarah into their teams. But so far neither has agreed to the staggering paycheck.
According to Variety, Palin’s show will center on interesting characters, traditions and attractions in Alaska – with the ex-VP candidate as a guide.
Producers eye the project thinking that people will tune in to see what Sarah Palin’s up to even though they aren’t necessarily interested politics or see themselves as Palin’s fans.
The show’s producer Mark Burnett (Survivor, Apprentice) wants Sarah to become the new Oprah Winfrey especially when the prime time diva is over with her show in 2011.
Can’t say I’m excited about Sarah Palin on daytime TV. You?
UPDATE: Later in the week Palin signed off on a new eight-part documentary series with Discovery about herself and her home state of Alaska reportedly called Sarah Palin’s Alaska. The series will premiere on TLC and be produced by Mark Burnett.
Discovery Communications is so excited to help Sarah Palin tell the story of Alaska, and to have a great documentary filmmaker in Mark Burnett helping to reveal Alaska’s powerful beauty as it has never been filmed, and as told by one of the state’s proudest daughters,” Peter Liguori, Chief Operating Officer, Discovery Communications, said in the statement.
