Nick Jonas makes West End debut in ‘Les Miserables’

Nick Jonas made his west End theatre debut starring as Marius Pontmercy in Les Meserables that premiered last night.

Nick, 17, was joined by his older brothers Kevin and Joe Jonas as well as parents Denise and Paul and lil bro Frankie who came to London to support him.

Nick was given a standing ovation after the performance though he confessed singing in theater was something he still had to get used to.

It’s not just the stage elements but the style of singing. There’s pop music and then there’s theatrical style music and I’m just getting used to that mind set and trying to re-learn how to sing [so it’s] interesting and a lot of fun as well,” Nick told before the show began, according to the Daily Mail.

Though Les Miserables opened just yesterday, it’s not the first time Nick Jonas stars in the show. When he was just nine he would play the character Gavroche in the New York production before it closed in 2003.

Back then the show’s producer Cameron Mackintosh invited Nick back to the show to play Marius.

He and his father and I agreed that it would be great if he came and played Marius here in London. He has bent over backwards to fit it all into his schedule,” Mackintosh said.

Nick’s West End show will definitely attract a lot of young girls to see their idol in live theatrical performance. Bet Les Miserables will break all records!

Nick Jonas will be playing Marius in Les Miserables for the next three weeks.
