Nick Carter: sober, healthy, sexy

I loved Nick Carter from Backstreet Boys when I was a teen. But then I grew up, he got fat and started dating Paris Hilton.

Nick, 29, spoke to People opening up about his health and drug problems and his way back to sober healthy lifestyle.

I would get tired because we were partying so much, so I would do a bump [of cocaine] just to wake myself up. I would be that person who would stay at these clubs till the lights come on and they’re playing, ‘Don’t Stop Believin’.’ People are looking at me going, ‘Is that Nick Carter?’ And I’m like, ‘Yeah, it’s me gacked up,'” he told the publication, adding that now he’s “trying to make myself better. But I don’t regret anything that I’ve gone through, because it makes me who I am.”

Eight months ago Carter was diagnosed with potentially fatal cardiomyopathy when the heart muscle gets weaker and it’s difficult for it to pump blood. That was the crucial point of his life. That’s when the singer realized it was time he stopped and thought about his life and his priorities.

My doctor said, ‘You need to change your lifestyle. I don’t want you to end up like that.’ I was like, ‘I don’t want to end up like that either.'”

So Nick started eating healthily, working out and moved out of LA (“to get away from the temptations”). He looks so sexy now! Just look at those abs!

Sometimes we need to get to the extreme to turn our life upside down. Nick’s story proves the axiom.
