New celeb Save the Children Ambassador
Gwyneth Paltrow has been appointed an Ambassador for Save the Children. Oscar-winning actress will help reduce the number of children dying from preventable diseases around the world, reported FemaleFirst Tuesday. Gwyneth, 35, will serve as an ambassador for charity for three years.
Gwyneth and her rock star husband Chris Martin have two children, Apple, three, and Moses, 23 months. The actress has noted recently that family is more important for her than her career. Nevertheless, soon we’ll all be able to see this talented blondie in Marvel comic book adaptation “Iron Man” and drama “Two Lovers”, which will both be released later this year.
Gwyneth is one of Hollywood’s philanthropists dedicating a lot of her time to charity. Besides being a newly appointed Save the Children Ambassador, Gwyneth serves on the board of the Robin Hood Foundation, which helps to reduce poverty in New York.
Gwyneth Paltrow isn’t the only celeb Ambassador of the Program. Earlier this year, Grammy Award-winning producer and American Idol judge Randy Jackson was made Save the Children’s first ever United States Programs Ambassador, working to raise awareness of US children living in poverty.
I wish there were more celeb humanitarians working in this field. Maybe Paris Hilton will join the Program after visiting Africa last week? Fat chance.
