Most expensive EVER – YSL’s chair sold for $28m

Not many people know that fashion designer genius Yves Saint Laurent had an impressive art and furniture collection in his mansion. Now that it’s almost a year passed since he died, his 733-piece collection is up for auction in Paris.

The chair you see on the picture above used to be standing in the designer’s sitting room and was designed by Eileen Gray, an Irish architect and furniture designer in 1917 approx.

What’s so special about it safe for the fact that it’s so old and original?

The chair was sold at Christie’s for the record $28.3 million, the sum that’s seven times as much as it’s pre-sale price of $3.8 million.

Wow, this “The Dragons” chair is the surely one of the world’s most expensive so far.

I don’t know who’s the buyer but he/she must be a freaking crazy art lover!

I develop some kind of inferiority complex about the chair I’m sitting on. It’s times and times cheaper. Damn.
