Ledger wins Golden Globe
As the awards season is in full swing, it takes up almost all of my time to keep the track of all these glamorous events (I even come to think my man is already jealous of Brad Pitt or some other hot guy showing up on the redcarpet.)
Anyways, the 66th Annual Golden Globes, one of the most prestigious and surely glamorous events, was held in LA last night with all your fave celebs show up to hot the redcarpet and pose for photographers.
The most remarkable thing about this kind of events, is surely the awards themselves. The main Golden Globes news is obviously that Heath Ledger was posthumously honored with a best supporting actor Golden Globe for his incredible performance as The Joker in The Dark Knight.
The film’s director Christopher Nolan collected the award for the late actor.
All of us who worked with Heath on The Dark Knight accept with an awful mixture of sadness but incredible pride,” Nolan said. “After Heath passed, you saw a hole ripped in the future of cinema.”
According to reports, this win boosts Ledger’s prospects to win a posthumous Oscar as the best supporting-actor. The Oscar nominations will be announced on January 22nd, the day of the one-year anniversary of the actor’s death from an accidental overdose of prescription drugs.
The Joker has already brought Heath Ledger Best Supporting Actor award at Critics’ Choice Awards held last week.
