Lady GaGa: “Beyonce helped me through school bullying”

Now the record-breaking singer and the hottest pop star in the world, Lady GaGa opens up about her experience as a bully victim. In the interview for MTV’s special Inside the Outside GaGa said her now friend Beyonce was the one to help her through the school bullying as her songs and music videos as a part of Destiny’s Child inspired GaGa to never give up.

I’ve never told Beyonce this, but I remember lying on my grandmother’s couch crying and a Destiny’s Child video came on, and I remember watching Beyonce and thinking, ‘She’s a star – I want that. I want to be on MTV,’ and now I’m in music videos with Beyonce,” Mother Monster told MTV.

In several interviews before the documentary Lady GaGa had revealed what it was like for her to grow up as she was constantly bullied for her looks and style:

School bullies called me fat and laughed at my appearance. I had a very big nose, very curly brown hair and I was overweight. I got made fun of,” GaGa said in her March 2011 interview with Google. “The boys picked me up and threw me in the trash can on the street, on the corner of my block while all the other girls from the school were leaving and could see me in the trash,” she added in another interview earlier this month.
